About Infrared Sauna.

For hundreds of years saunas have been used to promote health and vitality. Infrared saunas have been rapidly gaining popularity as an all-natural tool for enhancing detoxification, optimizing health, and also treating disease. Studies show that regular use of an infrared sauna can definitely improve the body’s ability to adapt to stress, eliminate toxins, and be a valuable tool in the treatment of a wide range of health conditions.

Let’s dive into what is an infrared sauna.

Compared to steam or dry-heat saunas, where a radiant heater or wood stove is used to keep the air temperature very hot (around 185°F or 85°C), infrared saunas use metallic or ceramic heat elements. These elements emit energy in the far-infrared range to heat the air up to about 140°F or 60°C. Infrared wavelengths are too long to be perceived by the eyes, but the body experiences their energy as a gentle radiant heat that can penetrate up to 1.5 inches beneath the skin.

Since infrared heat penetrates more deeply than warmed air and heats skin faster, infrared sauna users develop a more vigorous sweat at a lower temperature than they would in traditional saunas.

Many people find the temperatures of infrared saunas more comfortable and relaxing, while the high heat of conventional saunas can be quite uncomfortable.
